Who has impressed you the most this last year? A:I’m going to have to say my little bro, Mike. The little pipsqueak from my childhood memories is no more. This past year his climbing has gone through the roof with some crazy sick sends down in Oz. With his big goofy grin and quirky sense of humor, Mike is definitely one of the coolest kids ever. So watch out Flashed fans, this boy is gonna be a climbing superstar!
Describe a time when someone helped your climbing? A: There are gazillions of times that someone has helped my climbing. Every time I climb I get helpful beta, a good catch or spot, and endless support from my friends. I definitely have to thank Knut Rokne for coaching me and pushing me through all those early morning training sessions in my later junior years, Simon Villeneuve for providing me with endless support and inspiration, and Walson Tai and Mark Fraser from Flashed for keeping climbing youthful, energetic and creative.
How do you deal with fans chasing you at all times A: Well it’s a great way to get my cardio in. But me ‘n Harry Potter are tight so he lent me his cloak of invisibility for those days when I’m not sporting my runners.
Where do you see your climbing going? A: Up, up and up! I’m never going to stop. It’s all just too much fun. Climbing will always be a part of my life, and I’m going to continue to push my boundaries and try the hardest, raddest, most beautiful lines out there. (In 60 years I’ll be the old granny with the rockin’ biceps!)
