March 8th was the windiest day I have ever experienced in Hueco. It was also the day we chose for our final adventure tour of the season, to the Summit of West Mountain. The Faces of Hueco were conspiring against us, as we had barely warmed up and tried a few lines before almost literally being blown off the mountain. After reaching the highest point in Hueco and relishing the view for a few brief moments we sought shelter in the Bodysnatcher cave, bracing ourselves against gusts of wind that sent our pads nearly sailing down to ground level.
By this point climbing was all but out of the question. We made a dash to ground level in order to pay our respects to the Faces of Hueco in hopes that they might show some pity on us poor climbers.
Whether by luck or other means the wind died off enough for just long enough to run a lap on the all time classic Crash Dummy before leaving the park and capping off one of the more extreme days I've spent in the Tanks.[gallery]
