I received my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. Part of the curriculum involved learning about various sports trough “activity labs”. Rock Climbing was an activity lab that sounded exciting and I heard it was pretty fun…So I signed up as soon as I could. Little did I know that this one course would change my life forever. I was instantly hooked on climbing. After a couple years of climbing, I infiltrated the core climber group of the climbing wall and that’s when my skill and technique started to really improve. I will always be so grateful to the group that took me on all the climbing trips that summer. I learned a lot from them and fell more in love with the sport and climber bum lifestyle. Climbing changed my life. It helped me get in shape, come out of my shell and travel the world. It is a source of comfort and excitement. Climbing led me to life-long friendships and my soul mate.
I just graduated with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy but am putting off getting a ‘real’ job in order to go on an 8 month North American climbing trip with my husband.
