Andy White, I’m one of the golden oldies in this Flashed bunch. I’ve been around this amazing sport for the better part of a couple of decades, and feel very lucky to have truly been able to live climbing. From completing a decade of Okanagan bouldering development and first ascents up to V13/14 while experiencing a true development “boom”, to being a head routesetter at Gneiss Climbing, to authoring a couple of bouldering guidebooks (including the massive, new Okanagan Bouldering guide), to being an access society president, to founding and leading the organization of Rock the Blocs, Canada’s largest annual bouldering festival, my life has been enriched by the climbing community, and I like to think that I’ve been able to reciprocate. This sport has given my family and me so much, and for that, I’m very thankful.
The Okanagan region of BC is my home, and throughout many years of bouldering development, we’ve grown it into a world-class destination. The community here is unlike any other, and it will always be one of my favourite places to climb. Come check it out! There’s always a smile and a hug waiting for you.
I’d like to thank Flashed for their support, industry-leading products, community support, innovation, and for actually listening to their team when developing new products! Class act!
See you all on the pebbles!
