My name is Caleb Franchere!
As a kid, I probably went through almost every generic sport you could think of before finally stumbling upon climbing. Once I began, I never looked back. My local gym has been my second home and the source of my community for over a decade now. If I’m not training, route setting, coaching or just hanging out at the gym, you can find me out in the desert looking for the endless potential/projects the Land of Enchantment, NM, has to offer.
Like route setting, boulder development at new areas has strung a bridge between my passion for climbing and the creative process that I strive for. Discovering and puzzling over those dream-like boulders is an exhilarating chase that comes with a lot of knowledge of knowing what to look for, where to look and challenging your patience when exploring the unknown. And as you would anticipate with excitement that someone would be stoked to climb your new sick set of boulders at the gym, the same eagerness is replicated outside when someone shares the same thrill and wonder towards a boulder you uncovered, cleaned, and puzzled over yourself. I love sharing the experience.
