Gym padding can be quickly divided into three key areas:
Bouldering; Routes: and Training areas.
Bouldering padding systems are designed for climbing walls where ground falls are expected and there is no other primary ‘catch’ system intended.
Route padding is designed for climbing walls where there are other primary catch systems in place and where a ground fall is not expected above the first bolt.
Training areas can be made in either the Bouldering or Route padding style as long as the critical fall height is higher than the maximum fall height of the training device.
